Hi. Great program, first-time user here.
Just one problem I haven't been able to iron out.
I'm using version 2.50, I've got a full complement of data files, and I've configured it correctly (I hope).
Only problem is that when I try to start the roms from RC, the emulator starts up without a rom actually loaded.
This is the case for SNES and NES titles. When I open Genesis titles via RC, the emu starts up with the game loaded.
Any tips or advice?
Thanks.
A newbie question...

Welcome Huma
Check the emulator command line parameters are correct in the romcenter parameters windows. To verify this, try to run a game from a dos console by typing the command (i.e.: 'mame.exe puckman')
The parameters depend of the emulator you use. Some emulators doesn't even allow to directly run a game froma command line !
Try also to quote the filename and the emulator name.
You should update to 2.71, as some bugs have been fixed with emulators.

Hi Huma and welcome here.Huma wrote:Just as an aside, are there any recommended emus to use with RC?
Well, "recommended" emulators is not the expression to use. RC either supports an emulator or not. "supports an emulator" means that if a datafile exists for a specific emu, you can:
1. use RC to make sure the emu's roms you have are "playable" and
2. you can enter the location of the emu's exe into RC and play a rom (game).
TC is flexible enough to accept an exe (with parameters) per datafile, which means it stores all info about the emulator and its roms in a separate location for each emu. So in most cases, if an RC datafile exists and the emu can execute a rom with a command-line parameter, you can just put all these in RC and... have fun.

For more info on datafiles, try logiqx's site.
