Romcenter

I had minor odd problems with my computer. Now when I try to open any dat files, I got the error "This version of the datafile xxx is not supported. Please use another datefile, or download a new version of Romcenter"

I am using 2.70. I have:

- Uninstalled and reinstalled
- Tried old Beta versions
- Tried 2.62
- Tried the dats included in the install
- Tried creating a new mame dat

None of these have worked.

Very strange. Anyway, try the following.

1. Uninstall RC.
2. If the directory in which you had installed RC exists, delete it and its subdirectories (just don't delete any roms if you have placed them under there).
3. Install RC (try the default directory, just in case).
4. Delete everything under "Archive", "Cache" and "Datas" folders
5. Create a new data file from MAME.

If it still does not work, there may be a problem with your Windows setup. In that case and if Eric cannot help you, you could try a temporary reinstallation of Windows in an empty old HDD perhaps, to see if the problem persists. Perhaps there is an older/newer version of a DLL that RC uses in your system.
