I have a complete mame 0.95 set and want to make Nebula 2.24 play all the roms it should (cps1/2, ng etc).

So what exactly do I do with the RomCenter/CMPro dat files?

Because from what I understand don't those modify/rename certain files or whatever? I don't want to mess up my mame compatibilty, I want to force Nebula to recognize the newer changes though.

So I am confused about these dat files and what to do with them.

Download the Nebula data file and use one of the supplements in the ZIP (choose the one that matches your MAME set type).

i still do not understand the purpose of the dat file or what it does. am i going to screw up my perfect fully-merged mame set by using these? because like i said if nebula won't work with the mame roms completely then what does the dat file do?

wouldn't it be better to have a collection of updated mame compliant nebula dat files to use in nebula instead of using a utility to change all your roms and then break mame compatibility?

i don't know what this is or understand it's purpose.

The purpose of the supplement is to create a second directory in addition to the MAME ROMs:

Dir 1 = MAME ROMs (unchanged)
Dir 2 = Nebula Supplement (only 270MB)

By using Dir 1 and Dir 2 Nebula can run any game without a problem.
