Problem with Goodgen recognizing roms - Newbie

Hello all,

Please bare with me I am a newbie and am still trying to figure things out. That being said I seem to have a problem with roms not being recognized.

Before I had Romcenter I had a bunch of Gen games. I then got ROmcenter and audited my roms. Most of them come up as unknown roms, but still play in the gen.exe emulator. When I try to fix any of these files it says there are no fixes.

Most of these files are .smd or .sms. Is there any way to fix them so that they are recognized by romcenter. I want the program to catalog all my roms I would hate to have to delete thes roms and start from scratch only finding roms that are correctly named......

Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. Also any helpful links to learn more about emu's in general would be great..........

I'm not sure but it sounds like your not using the plugin or it's not installed.
Go into your RomCenter directory - open the folder titled plugin - and make sure that you have a file called genesis.dll.
If its there try opening the GoodGen datafile with a text editor (you'll find it in the RomCenter directory under datas) and make sure the top part looks something like this:

[CREDITS]
Author=blah blah blah
Version=0.999.8
[DAT]
version=2.50
plugin=genesis.dll
[EMULATOR]
refname=GoodGen
version=GoodGen 0.999.8

If it still does'nt work try this datafile GoodGen

Sorry about that the link is working now.
You can find all the plugins, except the Genesis one here in the download section.

Genesis.dll (link broken)
