[IDEA] Drag n Drop ability

I don't use clrmame much anymore because I find the GUI confusing and it seems geared toward the user maintaining a complete set of MAME roms (I don't). One thing I do miss is the ability to drag a zipfile containing needed rom files to the results window and clrmame will add them to the sets that ...

The clunkiness that is MAME Datfile generation...

Would it be possible to allow the user configure what type of MAME set the user has before datfile generation so Romcenter only has to organize the datfile structure once? Most users I know of have split sets with samples located separately in the samples folder, but Romcenter defaults to merged ...

Re: Suggestion for RC 3.32

You suggestion about making it red within the rom sounds good. Mark it "nodump" or "needs redump" as needed.

Yeah I know we went through this before, but I thought I would reignite the topic since it kinda fizzled out the first time :)

Re: Suggestion for RC 3.32

How did the old RC 2x series do it? This was never an issue before 3x was released. Dummy rom creation should be removed entirely IMO. ClrMAME gave it up a few versions back and MAME doesn't complain at all in their absence.

Suggestion for RC 3.32

When I uncheck "create dummy roms" please make all romsets show green instead of yellow for the affected sets. Dummy roms will not create missing rom data and therefore add nothing other than to make the roms show green within RC. They're junk basically. If the real roms aren't dumped and all the ...

Re: [BUG 3.20] Errors creating database

I haven't encountered database creation problems, but I have noticed a couple of things: when using the newest no-intro dat for NES games (20090218) clrmame dat, it shows all roms as red because it is apparently not skipping headers when calculating the CRC and when generating from the RC dat, it ...

Re: [BUG 3.20] Errors creating database

If it was a datutil problem, wouldn't I also have the same problems using the newest datutil with RC 3.11? I rolled back to 3.11 last night, installed the new datutil (2.44) and it works perfect. If you need me to re-install 3.20 and perform some tests, let me know :)

Re: [BUG 3.20] Errors creating database

It appears to have worked for this dat but failed with the coleco and SuperGraphx Dats. Got an error saying the Datfile wasn't valid (yes, I did change the dat name in the .bat file.). Does this help you determine the cause I take it?

Fixed [BUG 3.20] Errors creating database

I'm having all kinds of problems generating databases with 3.20. Here is the typical error I encounter:

Sample mode : merged
Plugin : arcade.dll
Import datas
Database closed

Re: BUG: RC and dummy rom creation

Here is the results of my MAMEUI 127.6 rom audit. All of the games listed here boot and are playable, save the ones with driver problems and there are no dummy roms. Check with Roman, I'm sure her could explain this better than me :)

Re: BUG: RC and dummy rom creation

Thats funny because I have plenty of games with NoDumps and Needs ReDump status and they load in MAME just fine. Most of them are pal roms that according to Guru, aren't really needed for the game to play. Point is that if the rom needs redumped or no dump exists, creating a dummy rom isn't going to ...

BUG: RC and dummy rom creation

Even after disabling the creation of dummy roms, RC still shows roms as yellow and indicates they can be generated in the info section. IMO, dummy roms are useless and the feature should be removed. Sets with No Dumps or Needs Redump roms should be green and the info column should indicate which ...

Re: Romcenter 3 RC1 - Problem with n64 roms

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but no matter what .rdt file I have loaded, it still shows the plugin arcade.dll being used in help->about->plugin tab and doesn't give any indications that other plugins are in the plugin dir.

Btw, will you be packaging the various console .dll files with the final version? RC only inlcudes arcade.dll.

Romcenter 3 RC1 - Problem with n64 roms

RC doesn't recognize byteswapped n64 roms using the Dat available from NoIntro (20080210). Previous RC recognizes them without issue. Does the n64.dll need updating? I just copied all the console .dlls from my old RC installation over to the new one.

RC3A7: MSVCR71.dll and MSVCP71.dll not found and other bugs

RC 6 crashed immediately for me upon startup but RC7 crashes and gives this error. Running XP Pro SP2 fully updated. I DL'd the missing DLL files and it starts fine now, but if these aren't going to be included in the installer, the user should be informed of the requirements.
